Please cite all sources you consulted when creating your video. This includes any images, visuals, or audio used in your video submission. Additionally, be sure to list any tools, such as AI, that you used to create visuals or animations.
We are leaving it up to you to choose the citation style you want to use. For many sources, a hyperlink is enough. Styles like MLA, APA, or Chicago are also popular options.
Some websites will give you suggestions in sections "how to cite." You can also adapt these to your preferred styles, as long as you include enough information to identify the source and any information which is explicitly required by the license. For example, there are many images or music that are free to use and adapt but are licensed under Creative Commons, which have requirements on how to attribute.
There are many tools which help in formatting citations. Google scholar has many citations styles for each paper available to copy-paste in the 'cite' section. ChatGPT or other chat-bots can be helpful for creating citations, or formatting citations all into the same style for you.
We require that you cite your sources in these two places:
In the description of your video on YouTube.
In the submission form. There will be a place specifically to list your sources.
You may also include your citations in your video (for example, listing the source of an image when it appears) but this is not required.
